My Top 4 Breakfast Juice Recipes

Long gone are the days of mince pies for breakfast…

I’m quite the keen juice maker once I get into the swing of it. After being passed down my mum’s old juicer a couple of years ago, I’ve loved creating new and exciting concoctions. Some have been quite experimental shall we say and others have become staple recipes I use again and again. I thought I’d share with you some of my favourites ones because I know we all need that bit of motivation after Christmas!

Here are four awesome recipes to kick start your 2017…

1. Beetroot Blast

Ingredients – 1 whole raw bulb of beetroot, 2 apples, 1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger, half a lime

This is one of my all time favourites, beetroot adds such a sweet, rich flavour (and vibrant colour!) and is an excellent source of fibre, folic acid and magnesium. Fresh ginger adds a spicy kick to the juice, you’ll find ginger in most of my juices as I love it soo much! It’s great for your digestive system and also encourages perspiration so it can be used when you’ve come down with a cold.

2. Mixed Berries & Cream

Ingredients – 250g blueberries, 250g blackberries, half an apple, half a pear, 10ml of almond milk

Blueberries and blackberries are great to include in your breakfast as they directly increase antioxidant levels and are another rich source of Vitamin C. Plus they taste delicious. If you want even more berries in your juice goji berries & cranberries are full of nutrition and will help fight illness. I decided to add some almond milk to make it a little more creamy than the other ones and it worked a treat!

3. Carrot Zinger

Ingredients – 5 carrots, 4 oranges, 2 thumb-size pieces of fresh ginger, half a lime, half a lemon

This juice will give you that ‘kick up the backside’ to get you focused. Carrots are sweet and full of Vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin B8, Iron and manganese. If you want to add even more of a boost, cayenne pepper powder is great for the digestive system and helps move toxin & bacteria out of the body.

4. Apple Ginger Shot

Ingredients – quarter of an apple, 3 thumb-sized pieces of fresh ginger

Small but packs a punch! With three thumb-sized pieces of ginger this for sure will detox your system. I would ideally have 2 or 3 of these a day as you could prepare one huge glass and  make it last a week!

    They sound both delicious and healthy. I too love ginger. I like the way you listed the nutritional benefits of each juice, I found that helpful.

    I made a great juice with 4 carrots, I apple, three slices of fresh pineapple, quarter of a lime, chunk of ginger, few basil leaves. I also like to add a bit of wheatgrass as a nutritional boost.
