My Bath Time Essentials

I love a good soak. There is nothing quite like sinking into a warm bath after a hard days work.

Sometimes showers just don’t cut it for me. I need to spend an hour or too in the bath as it’s like my ‘zen’ time. A place I can totally chill out and forget about the world for a little bit. So saying that you’ve probably guessed I love my body products. Bubbles, bath bombs, salts and scrubs. I love them all. I’m not too fussed over make-up but give me something I can use in the bath and I’ll love you forever! I chose to steer away from Lush products in this post because they are ever so popular and I wanted to show you some great alternatives. Although don’t worry, when the winter months approach I will be sure to pop in and pick up some of my faves I can’t not share with you all. So I’ll be writing up a full blog post about Lush then. Keep your eyes peeled for that one…

Anyway, here are the essentials I think everyone needs to have in there bathroom cupboard…

Essential Oils. I have a wide variety of essential oils after taking up an interest in how they effect our mind and body. If you don’t know where to start Lavender is the ultimate go-to and it’s a bathroom cupboard necessity. It reduces stress, helps you sleep, is antibacterial, there are so many reasons to use it. I put around 10 drops of my chosen essential oil into the bath and wait for the room to fill with aroma.

Himalayan salts. Promotes a healthy PH balance, improves circulation, relieves muscle cramps and so much more.A salt bath helps draw out toxins, deep cleanses the skin, and helps cleanse the body energetically. It seems a bit odd to add salt to your bath, because I definitely cook with this too but it feels so detoxifying.

Epsom salts. An Epsom salt bath is known to ease pain and relieve inflammation. I use it to tend sore muscles, or if I have a migraine it helps relieve the pain. It also helps replenish magnesium in the body which makes a huge difference to my sleep and energy levels the next day. I definitely recommend epsom salts or magnesium bath flats that you can pick up from Holland and Barrett.

Aesop Body Cleanser. Who would do it better? no one. This body cleanser gives such a strong floral smell. The geranium really makes you feel relaxed as it’s an ’emotion balancer’. You could also use this as a bubble bath, just pop some in under the running tap and wait for the room to fill with fragrance!
